Matang-Tubig Watershed Forest Reserve — Monreal, Masbate

The Matang-Tubig Watershed Forest Reserve in Monreal town in Masbate is one of the important watersheds in the Bicol Region. Found in the village of Real, this watershed is the source of water for many residents. You would often see people swimming, fetching water for drinking or washing, or doing their laundry.

The water is cold and the locals swear that the water is clean for drinking without needing to boil it, although further studies have to be made according to local experts.

To get to Matang-Tubing Watershed Forest Reserve, you need to hail a habal-habal (motorcycle for hire) from the Monreal town proper. The fare costs P30.
